There are so many story lines in the NBA Finals, from Steph Curry’s MVP to the phenomenal offensive displays, but the truth is that the Warriors’ defense won this championship for them. They were able to get stops and, most importantly, they locked down the Celtics best player, Jayson Tatum. Defense does win championships and the Warriors proved that last night, winning their fourth in eight years.
Doug Gottlieb: “What you won’t hear is what I’m going to tell you; they won that because of their ability to play defense, to get stops, to frustrate the other team’s best player, Jayson Tatum. He looked frustrated. He looked lost.”
