Dan Patrick ripped a Knicks parade gaffe that linked retired No. 33 to little-used reserve Dillon Jones rather than Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, questioning how such an obvious error slipped through.
Dan Patrick: “They had all the jersey numbers up there of players on the Knicks. And I'm seeing 33 and I go, ‘Well that's Patrick Ewing’s.’ There's a guy on the roster who I think played seven games and his number in the program is 33. So, you have one of the five greatest Knicks players who's at the parade and he looks up and sees his number which is retired. What's this guy's name? Last name Jones?”
Marvin Prince: “Dillon Jones.”
DP: “Dillon Jones. He played seven games and then even when he did play, I think he wore the number 1. I don't know how this happened that you have this unbelievable moment here, you got all the jersey numbers, and then you got some guy who's played seven games and he gets his number 33 up there which is retired.”
