Cop Allegedly Slapped By Odell Beckham Jr. Doesn't Want To Press Charges

College Football Playoff National Championship - Clemson v LSU

Officials in New Orleans have rescinded a misdemeanor arrest warrant for simple battery against Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Authorities issued the warrant after Brown allegedly slapped the butt of a police officer at the Superdome following LSU's national championship victory.

The New Orleans Police Department issued a statement saying the officer "has decided to drop the charge" and "absent a complaining witness, this is not a case our office intends to pursue."

While that is good news for Beckham, he could still face discipline from the NFL for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy. He also caused controversy after the game by handing out cash to some of the student-athletes. While the NCAA can't punish Beckham, the players who took the money could face discipline if the cash is determined to be an improper benefit.
