Take your mom for a walk this Mother’s Day weekend!
The 17th Annual Breast Cancer 5K CARE Walk will begin and end at the Oakwood High School stadium on Saturday, May 12. Since 2001, CARE Walk has raised more than $235,000 for breast cancer causes, and 100 percent of the proceeds help the underserved and uninsured in the Miami Valley. The event is for walkers and runners of all ages. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the walk begins promptly at 9 a.m.
Registration is $10 per student, $20 per adult, or $50 per family. Free gifts for all cancer survivors and all pre-registered walkers will be entered into the door prize drawing.

CARE Walk’s Goal and Inspiration
The majority of our CARE Walk team has lived in Dayton for many years, and many were born here. Our team feels it’s especially appropriate that CARE Walk is based in Dayton, the birthplace of numerous inventors and dreamers. We figure if two brothers who didn’t go to college can learn to build and fly an airplane in a world full of skeptics, our dream of a world without cancer is not so far-fetched. The CARE Walk team is committed to a future where our children and their children can grow up in a world without cancer.
